Location: Tyndall, SD Worker Type: Regular Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) St. Michael’s Hospital Avera is looking for individuals to join our positive and team-oriented organization. We look forward to hearing from you! Position Highlights Job Summary Purchases material and equipment as directed, consistent with purchasing policies and procedures of the clinic and hospital. Accurately receives and issues inventory stock items, provide timely and efficient service to the clinic various hospital departments in response to their requisition requests. Provides clean, sterile and non-sterile supplies and equipment for patient care under the direction and supervision of the supply chain manager. Job Duties Performs generalized purchasing functions for the clinic and hospital including, but not limited to: contacting vendors to obtain pricing, quantities, and delivery times for goods and services, to the issue of requisitions/purchase orders, to receiving of purchases. Delivers goods to designated clinic and hospital departments. Completes monthly checklist on expiration dates for dated goods. Completes physical inventory procedures as required. Interacts with clinic and hospital employees, as to determine needs for goods and services. Interacts with Avera Supply chain and vendors to identify opportunity for group buys, as well to analyze the most advantageous purchase price, given clinic and hospital standards and quality procedures. Maintains purchasing expertise and professional competency to serve as a resource for personnel within the clinic and hospital. Prepares the room for procedures in a timely fashion. Assures appropriate equipment and needed procedure tools and adequate equipment for all cases. Performs decontamination, assembly and sterilization, according to Infection Control, and established QA monitoring guidelines as demonstrated by annual competency review. Transports scopes/equipment as needed. Reports broken and malfunctioning instruments and equipment to the Leader. Assists with checking monthly outdates and equipment inventories including: insures exam rooms are filled regularly. Ensures proper education, protocols, and competencies are being followed for cleaning of our equipment. This position also includes scope cleaning and sterilization twice per month.
