Description
What You Will Do Responsible for maintaining overall inventory, and picking up and replenishing supplies, at assigned hospital work areas. Track all related information using handheld computers. Responsible for keeping supply areas neat and orderly in order to permit the accurate counting of supplies and the identification and removal of outdated supplies. Serves as primary customer service liaison between Material Distribution and the nursing divisions/units relative to Periodic Area Replenishment (PAR) items, and is responsible for maintaining communications with designated nursing representatives in order to ensure timely and accurate information flow regarding shortages, outages, overstock, and other inventory problems and concerns. Accurate maintenance of shelf tag labels noting pertinent item information. Additional Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation. Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Education High School Equivalent / GED (Required) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Proficient oral and written communication skills. (Required proficiency) Stock room, inventory, hospital, and/or customer service experience. (Preferred proficiency) Demonstrated ability to use PCs and general office equipment (i.e. printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). (Required proficiency) Experience with hand held computers.
