The Elmscot Group based in Cheshire are currently recruiting for a Nursery Cook on a supply basis, Monday to Friday. This role is responsible for planning, preparing and serving fresh nutritious and safe food to nursery children and staff every day. Meals include breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and snacks, and occasional special food for special events.
The role will cover a variety of our

• Liaising with the Admin team on recipes and source of ingredients.
• Monitor and implement Food Hygiene legislation affecting the Nursery
• Responsible for monitoring and proposing updates to the following policies to Nursery Manager: Food Policy / Allergies and Food Intolerance Policy / Health and Safety Policy / Mealtime Policy
• Responsible for maintaining the kitchen related documents within the nursery Health and Safety file, maintaining a Kitchen Record file of all completed checklists and ensuring that the Nursery Health and Safety Policy is adhered to, reporting any problems regarding equipment maintenance or failure, of policy non-compliance to the Nursery Manager, including for regularly monitoring and proposing updates to the following Health & Safety documents to Nursery Manager: All kitchen/food related Risk Assessments / Kitchen HACCP / Food Serving Hazard Analysis / COSHH documents / Kitchen Hygiene Inspection Checklists / Kitchen & Food Storage areas Cleaning Schedule Checklists / Temperature Check Record
