As Stemilt’s Supply Planner, you play a critical role in closing the feedback loop between forecasted supply and actual fruit conditions. You work cross-functionally with Quality Control, Production, Scheduling, Planning, and Sales to translate real-world supply signals into actionable insights that improve packout performance, guide scheduling decisions, and boost supply forecasting accuracy. Problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and effective communication are essential for this role. Responsibilities: Supply Signal Integration: · Monitor and interpret QC results, fruit condition, maturity, and storage characteristics across varieties and locations. · Translate raw fruit conditions into implications for pack timing, packouts, and risk. · Identify upcoming supply inflection points, opportunities, and constraints. Scheduling Decision Support: · Partner closely with Pack Schedulers to provide forward-looking insights that inform pack strategies. · Proactively flag supply risks or opportunities before schedules are finalized. · Support efforts to maximize packouts while balancing operational realities. Forecast Feedback Loop: · Provide continuous feedback to Planning Analysts on gaps between forecasted and actual supply. · Help refine assumptions used in near-term and seasonal supply forecasts. · Document learnings to improve future planning cycles. Sales Communication and Alignment: · Communicate upcoming supply flows, constraints, and timing considerations to Sales. · Support Sales with accurate supply context to inform commitments and customer conversations. · Serve as the supply-side counterpart to future demand planning capabilities. Cross-Functional Collaboration: · Participate in weekly Sales and Operations style meetings as the supply voice. · Work closely with QC, Production, and Storage teams to stay ahead of changes. · Identify process improvements that strengthen alignment between planning and execution · Other duties as assigned. Experience: · Experience in supply planning, production planning, scheduling, quality control, or operations within a manufacturing or agricultural environment. · Experience interpreting operational data and translating it into actionable insights for cross-functional teams. · Experience working closely with operations, planning, and/or production teams in a fast-paced environment. · Demonstrated ability to communicate complex supply concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. · Experience collaborating across departments without direct authority. · Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). The following are a plus, but not required: · Experience in tree fruit, agriculture, or fresh food supply chains. · Experience working with QC data, fruit maturity, condition, or storage characteristics. · Familiarity with Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) or similar cross-functional planning processes. · Experience supporting or informing production scheduling decisions. · Experience working with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI) or supply planning models.
