JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our educational team. This role requires creativity, patience, and excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students and their families.

EXPERIENCE

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Proven experience working with children in an educational setting.
  • A background in special education or experience with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with teaching strategies for students on the autism spectrum is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

As a supply teacher with Standby Education, your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing lesson plans tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Providing instruction across various subjects, ensuring all students can access the curriculum.
  • Creating a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and collaboration.
  • Assessing student progress regularly and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
  • Collaborating closely with special education staff to support students with disabilities.
  • Mentoring and tutoring students, offering additional support as needed outside of regular class hours.
  • Fostering relationships with parents and guardians to promote student success.
  • Engaging in creative activities to enhance students’ literacy skills.
  • Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices.
