Facility Cape Fear Valley Medical Center Location Fayetteville, North Carolina Department Distribution Job Family Service Work Shift Nights (United States of America) Summary Responsible for delivering requested supplies and/or equipment from Distribution to the various user departments within the facility. All tasks are completed under direct supervision of Distribution Supervisor, or designated Charge Technician (if applicable) Major Job Functions The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time: Provide supplies to walk-in customers and utilizes proper documentation to ensure that the supplies that were dispensed are issued to respective accounts using the MMIS system Process tickets printed from MMIS Web requisitions (separates requisitions, selects the orders, and distributes to Health System departments if necessary.) Stages appropriate orders for deliveries to external customers Delivers special order supplies and equipment to various requestors and obtains a signature to verify such deliveries Breaks down pallets and puts away the supplies received into the inventory. Verifies correct item, manufacturer codes, expiration dates, and quantities Safely operate the manual or electric pallet jacks to deliver supplies and equipment to the requestors Perform the duties associated with the facility’s mailroom (sorting, processing and delivering mail and packages) Perform routine cleaning in the department to include but not limited to: receiving dock, inventory location(s), and the mailroom areas Initiate all communication both oral and written to purchasing, vendor, or requestors regarding any issues in relation to inbound supplies. Utilize proper documentation and/or spreadsheets for recording purposes, to assist in performance improvement processes Receive Prime Vendor EDI transmissions into the MMIS system. Verifies all pertinent information, to include but not limited to: quantity, descriptions, backorders, and sub items. Processes all paperwork and organizes such paperwork to assist in the efficiencies of the put away process Responsible to pick up, return, and sanitize work area before and after assigned shift Perform scheduled rounds and delivers requested supplies and equipment from Central Supply Perform all Stat runs as necessary Assemble specialty kits that are to be restocked on the units Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job: Education and Formal Training: High school graduate or equivalent required Reads, writes and speaks fluent English required Work Experience: Previous hospital experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Ability to interact with other employees in CS as well as other departments in the facility Excellent customer service skills, to include effective oral communication, and critical thinking skills Ability to be flexible to daily changes in operational and patient care issues Ability to multi-task if necessary Discretion in the proper handling of confidential information is mandatory Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate these when necessary Physical Requirements: Must be able to see and hear Must be capable of withstanding the fatigue associated with continuous walking and standing Must be capable of delivering supplies and lifting objects that may weigh as much as 50 pounds and pushing carts with rolling weight as much as 100 pounds Required Licenses and Certifications Cape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity For exceptional healthcare come to Cape Fear Valley Health where caring employees are committed to integrity, patient-centeredness and excellence throughout the entire healthcare process.
