Job Title: Support Coordinator FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Department: Residential Reports to: Residential Directors Updated: 11.04.2025   JOB SUMMARY The Support Coordinator is integral to enhancing the daily living experience of residents at Hanna Center. This role requires collaboration with Group Home Youth Counselors, House Coordinators, the Director of Residences, Director of Transitional Housing Programs & Alumni Relations, and residents in the NPS and Transitional Housing Programs. The primary objective is to establish a supportive group home environment that promotes socially appropriate behaviors within a therapeutic, growth-oriented atmosphere. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. - Aware of licensing requirements for compliance. - Ensure the residential program aligns with the best practices and trauma-informed standards. - Provide regular updates on climate and work environment, as well as resident atmosphere, to the House Coordinator, Director of Residence, VP of Residential Programs, and Clinical Director. - Demonstrate positive relationships and establish clear boundaries as a positive adult role model. - Support staff and residents by implementing treatment approaches such as Restorative Practice, Life Space Interviews, Universal Trauma Training, ACE Study, and trauma-informed workforce policies. - Attending weekly in-service training courses and apply principles learned in meetings. - Communicate with Youth Counselors and other Hanna Center personnel as needed to ensure all information is relayed as appropriate. - Ensure adherence to safety rules and emergency procedures. - De-escalate crisis situations and employ crisis intervention skills when needed. - Act as a resource for behavior management concerns among residents. - Work effectively with all age groups and residential programs. - Serve as a liaison to CPS, the local sheriff's department or the Sonoma County’s Mobile Support Team (MST) as necessary. - Understand and implement mandated reporting requirements, including notification to Community Care Licensing (CCL). - Write and submit Unusual Incident Reports (UIRs) with proficiency. - Assist in resolving personnel issues that may impact residents or program effectiveness. - Participate in overnight pager duties. - Adapt work schedules to cover vacancies as required in all residential programs. - Assist with Medication Audits - Ability to drive residents, etc. - Perform other duties as assigned. CORE COMPETENCIES - Knowledge of afterschool activities - Ability to design and develop activities that support a trauma informed culture - Knowledge of de-escalation and crisis interventions - Ability to provide staff members with training on licensing requirements - Ability to conduct medication audits - Knowledge of program protocols and procedures - Ability to demonstrate TIC practices QUALIFICATIONS  - BA in a social science discipline preferred; experience with children required. - Ability to exercise sound judgment. - Strong skills in de-escalating conflicts among staff, families, and residents. - Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently. - Comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed practices, including community and intergenerational trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions. - Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Must pass background checks as required for a Community Care Licensed facility, including physical, TB, and drug testing. - Valid CA driver’s license and eligibility for insurance under Hanna's policy. - Must obtain certification, but not limited to: Mandated Reporting, Crisis Intervention, CPR, First Aid, and community water safety. - Capable of bending, squatting, stooping, climbing stairs, lifting 50 pounds, and carrying 20 pounds.
