The Boeing Global Services organization is seeking a Support Engineering Data Specialist for an exciting opportunity with the C-17 Maintainability and Supportability Engineering team at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA and or Joint Base Charleston SC. The C-17 platform is a mature airlifter for Air Forces of the United States and allied countries. This position plays an important role in ensuring that C-17 aircraft continue to be reliable and mission capable.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate degree from an accredited institution of learning.
  • 6+ yrs of relative work experience
  • 2+ years of experience supporting the military aviation industry
  • Working knowledge of C-17 aircraft engines and or C-17 Configuration Control and Maintenance Scheduling
  • Working knowledge of USAF Field Maintenance Command and Control (FMxC2) Data Systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Experience in Microsoft Full Suite Applications
  • Experience in Boeing Data/Information Systems

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master, 6 years’ related work experience, etc.)
Responsibilities
  • Supports developing, analyzing collecting, and storing various system support technical data elements and specifications for evaluation and assists with making recommendations.
  • Supports providing recommendations on product supportability and establishing product supportability operational maintenance tasks, resources, and support systems to achieve supportability requirements for a single equipment subsystem.
  • Assists with identifying and analyzing logistics support candidates from product definition and develops logistics support analysis records and reports.
  • Supports determining spares provisioning requirements for spare and replacement parts, levels, and stocking for a single customer and contract type.
  • Participates in preparing technical documentation for operating, testing, and maintaining aircraft systems/ components.
  • Supports reviewing aircraft and/or fleet operational performance, reliability, and availability.
  • Participates in internal and external technical reviews.
  • Coordinates and participates in process reviews, project management reviews and compliance audits.
  • Participates in internal technical reviews, engineering integration efforts and builds technical reports to assist internal and external leadership strategic planning
  • Defines and establishes metrics to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supports implementation of management and industry best practices.
