Responsibilities

You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where engineers, neurobiologists, engineers, physicists, and data scientists collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research.
The Functional Neuroimaging Research Unit is coordinated by Dr. Alessandro Gozzi who has extensive experience in functional neuroimaging and systems neuroscience.
Research at the Gozzi lab is aimed at understanding how the brain works as an integrated network in health and disease. The Gozzi lab addresses this question by combining causal neural manipulations in rodents with functional neuroimaging methods (fMRI, fUS), multimodal recordings, and cutting-edge neuro-computational approaches.
The selected candidate will help implementing in vivo experimental procedures in rodents (including viral transduction, optogenetics and/or electrophysiological recordings). Experience with the implementation of preprocessing and statistical analyses of electrophysiological or imaging data, will be considered a preferential asset.
Candidates with strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for neuroscience research are encouraged to apply.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing and optimizing experimental protocols (viral transfection, headpost implants, habituation of animals, fMRI, electrophysiology, fUS imaging);
  • Assisting in data collection, quality control, and pre-processing;
  • Organizing and managing lab inventory and equipment;
  • Collaborating with technical staff, researchers, and students on various projects;
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of laboratory procedures and contributing to the lab’s ongoing research.
