Job Title: Support Medical Secretary
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm or 8am – 4pm
Location: Sheffield Teaching Hospital
Trust Location: Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Glossop Road, S10 2JF

YOU’LL HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
· Previous experience of speaking with customers over the phone.
· Previous use of IT systems.
· Good teamwork
· Excellent communication skills
· Audio typing skills
· Arranging meetings
· In conjunction with the Medical Secretary, to support Consultants and the Department by undertaking a range of secretarial & administrative tasks.
· In times of absence, or as required, to provide administrative support to any of the neurosurgical MDT meetings which may include, particularly the Complex Spine MDT:
o Processing of MDT referrals;
o Ensuring all relevant notes and scans/X-rays are made available for the meeting;
o Ensuring the minutes are typed and distributed appropriately;
o Following actions up from the MDT meetings;
o Ensuring letters/proformas are sent to GPs and clinicians in a timely manner.
· To provide cover for Medical Secretaries during their absence including taking telephone
· messages, undertaking urgent typing and ensuring clinicians’ instructions are referred to the
· Medical Secretary. The post holder will also be expected to assist with the regular
· Neuromodulation clinic and take the lead on this in times of staff absence.
