Description:
We are looking to recruit a Support Medical Secretary for the Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
You should be able to work as part of a team as well as being able to use your initiative and prioritise workloads to achieve deadlines. You will need to have good communication skills; essential when liaising with consultants, doctors and nursing teams, patients and other secretarial staff within both the hospital and GP practices. You must also have competent audio typing skills to ensure clinic letters are composed in a timely manner.

Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the Consultants and their medical team. The role comprises a wide range of specific duties and requires skills in word processing, IT, audiotyping, communication and organisation, as well as a sound knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
To provide support to your team members .
It will be necessary to prioritise own workload daily to take
account of unexpected queries, demands etc. The post-holder will frequently receive calls from patients and relatives who are emotionally distressed, due to a variety of reasons. They will therefore need to possess qualities of maturity, sensitivity and tact when dealing
