Job Description At Frasers Group, our Maintenance Engineering team keeps the operation running in real time. We’re looking for a Support Technician to join the team. This is an entry route into engineering where you’ll contribute from day one, working on live automation with experienced technicians around you, people who will step in when it matters, but also expect you to step up. You’ll be working on high-volume, automated systems, conveyors, sortation, and storage technology operating at scale. What you'll be doing: Responding When It Matters Provide front-line support on live equipment, working alongside Maintenance Technicians during breakdowns. When a conveyor or sorter stops, respond quickly, follow direction, and play your part in getting the system back online. Build confidence working both independently on smaller issues and as part of a team during larger faults. Building Engineering Capability Through Action Carry out planned inspections and preventative maintenance alongside our Maintenance Technicians, understanding how to spot wear, misalignment, or early signs of failure. Support repairs on mechanical and electrical systems, developing practical, hands-on skills every shift. Take ownership of your learning. Staying Close to the Operation Monitor equipment performance on the ground, not from a distance. You'll be listening, watching, and spotting issues early. Call out problems clearly and early, especially when something doesn’t look right. Safety Under Real Conditions Work safely in high-risk environments including height and confined spaces Follow processes properly, even under time pressure. Accountability & Team Delivery Log all activity accurately in CMMS. Back the team during live issues. Support new equipment installs and system upgrades as the site continues to scale. Qualifications What we’re looking for Mindset over background: A genuine interest in engineering and how systems work under pressure. Comfortable in a hands-on, physical role where no two shifts are the same. Someone who stays calm when equipment stops and focuses on the fix. Communicates clearly on the shop floor, especially during live issues. Willing to learn quickly, take feedback, and apply it immediately Desirable (not essential) A qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Experience in a maintenance, production, or operational environment.
