JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Time and Recovery (STaR) Worker to join our mental health residential rehabilitation and reablement service. The STaR Worker will play a crucial role in supporting our service users to achieve their recovery goals and engage effectively with the community. This role is integral to our service user-led approach, promoting independence and recovery through personalised support. This role involves working closely with residents, healthcare professionals, and other support staff to create a safe and supportive living environment.
We’re currently hiring for both full-time and part-time positions. Please note that the full-time role involves 12-hour shifts and requires availability to work every other weekend.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Work on a 2-week rolling rota shift pattern, ensuring continuous support and care for residents.
  • Respond to crises and emergencies in a calm and effective manner.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment, respecting the rights and dignity of all residents.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Relevant qualification in mental health, social care, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of mental health conditions and best practices in mental health care.
  • Strong understanding of recovery principles and person-led care.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach to supporting individuals with mental health needs.
  • At least 2 years-experience working in a mental health or social care setting, preferably within a residential service.
