SUPPORT PROVIDER JOB DESCRIPTION

The role of support provider at ATOL fills a special need. Providing true support is about holistic care for a child, for the team whom with which you work and for the community. It is the ability to offer compassion, presence in challenging situations and remain committed when challenges in both your personal life and the professional environment arise.
Having your class 5 divers license with 5 million liability is preferred. All applicants must provide a clean CRC.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Relevant training or experience such as ECE, EA or community support worker (preferred)
· Class 5 drivers licence (preferred) Novice drivers are okay
· SIVA or Non-Violent Crises Intervention Training (preferred)
· First Aid (preferred)
· Must submit current CRC for children and vulnerable adults (requird)
· Demonstrated skills in basic behaviour management
· Ability to keep accurate records
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
· Ability to work with diverse learners and staff
· Reliability
· Punctuality
· Understanding of complex trauma and reactive behaviours
· Physically capable to perform the duties of the role including standing, moving from standing to crouching to sitting, walking and running, moving climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, including the ability to lift up to 60lbs.
· We are willing to support in training the right person. The ideal candidate will be willing to remain present, be open to learning, and remain dedicated in showing compassion for children.
