We are looking for individuals who strive to provide supported living care that is based on their individual needs, desires and aspirations in order to support service users to live independent, fulfilling lives.

  • To provide support to people in a way that is respectful, promotes independence and enables the individuals you support to realise their own potential.
  • To promote good practice at all times, act as an effective and positive role model.
  • To support individuals in accessing the community, in their own homes or in any setting their needs and choices may require.
  • To accurately record daily entries, observations and medical records.
  • To competently administer prescribed medication, to attend medication training with Abacus Care and Support and to complete your medication competency with senior staff members.
  • To support the service user to attend professional/ medical appointments.
  • To promote independence as well as the service users daily living skills, including; Menu and Activity Planning, Preparing food and drinks, Washing and keeping the environment clean, Personal care
  • To support the service user in accessing the facilities and activities available to them in the community. This includes helping to sources these and getting them booked in for the service user.
  • To liaise with parents, families, professionals, advocates and service user’s friends in a professional manner that positively represents Abacus Care and Support.
  • To ensure that all service users are safeguarded in accordance with Abacus Care and Support’s policies.
