OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing care and assistance to individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, and dementia. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being and comfort of our clients in a group home or assisted living environment. The Support Worker will be responsible for delivering high-quality care while fostering a supportive and nurturing atmosphere.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience in home health, caregiving, or long-term care settings is preferred.
  • Familiarity with patient care techniques including CPR and First Aid certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, memory care, and dementia support practices is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
  • Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities
  • Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
  • Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Maintain cleanliness in living areas by performing light housekeeping tasks.
  • Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
  • Administer medications as per care plans and assist with vital signs monitoring.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation.
  • Implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, families, and other caregivers to provide comprehensive support.
  • Document daily activities and any changes in client condition accurately.
