JOB OVERVIEW

As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and assistance to individuals in Care Homes. Your primary responsibility will be to support clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting their independence. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for those in need.

SKILLS

  • Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or senior care is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, and general patient care practices.
  • Ability to perform first aid and respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards clients’ needs.
  • Proficient in meal preparation and understanding dietary requirements.
  • Valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams.
    Job Type: Part-time
    Pay: £12.21-£12.50 per hour
    Expected hours: No more than 40 per week

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and assistance with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
  • Assist with medication administration as per care plans.
  • Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a trusting relationship.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs, including those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques for heavy lifting tasks.
