CHILDREN’S RESIDENTIAL SUPPORT WORKER LEVEL 3 NVQ MANDATORY

Pay: £12.21 - £14 per hour
24-hour working shift pattern
Reporting to: Registered Manager /Deputy Manager
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a 3-bedroom residential children’s home for children with additional needs in Davyhulme.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience would be preferable but we at BeKind are willing to consider staff that are new to the sector and are willing to embark on relevant training that will be funded.
  • Knowledge of care standards including child protection issues and working with children with emotional, behavioural and learning difficulties would be desirable.
  • You must be organised, committed and passionate about the work you do.
  • You will need to be flexible, adaptable and be able to read situations and help our young people make positive choices.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Work in line with children’s care plans, risk assessments and company policies.
  • Aware of safeguarding procedures.
  • Be passionate and driven.
  • Be a team player.
    This new, pleasant home is situated in Davyhulme in a community setting, only a short walk from local shops and leisure facilities with very good transport links.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will need to be highly motivated, approachable, non-judgemental and show diversity in their approach to working with young people, this will include:

  • Working as part of a professional team to promote and provide the highest standard of care for young people.
  • Communicating effectively with young people and the staff team.
  • To empower young people to grow into confident and resourceful young adults who understand and take responsibility for their own behaviours.
  • Communicate effectively with multi agencies within the social care sector, ensuring the transparency of the company is delivered consistently throughout the company.
  • Experience of dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Knowledge of the main issues affecting young people today.
  • Helping promote a stimulating, caring and culturally appropriate environment for the young people.
  • Have an understanding of Ofsted requirements and what is required to achieve outstanding when inspected.
  • Work with the Staff to successfully run a pioneering therapeutic children’s home.
  • Provide clear and accurate assessments of children and his/her needs in line with statutory guidance.
  • To safeguard children and ensure this is paramount in your practice.
  • Enhancing and building the requisite skillset to enable a young person to smoothly transition whether they are returning to the family home, supported lodgings/foster placement or onto independent living.
