REQUIREMENTS:

• Preferred NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Child Care or the willingness to enrol on the level 4 after the probationary period.
• Previous experience in a similar residential care role working with children but this is not essential. However we would look for transferable skills and qualities to ensure you would be effective within this role.
• Ability to work 24-hour shifts as per the shift pattern.

As a Bank Residential Support Worker, you will work with a dedicated team to provide care and support to the children and young people in our homes. Your role is crucial in creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for their positive development. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing emotional and social support: Building meaningful relationships with the children and encouraging their interaction with peers and adults within the community.
• Enhancing self-esteem and respect: Helping each young person in your care develop a positive self-image and ensuring they feel respected and valued.
• Promoting positive life choices and independence: Supporting the children in making positive decisions and achieving levels of independence appropriate to their age and abilities.
• Accurate and detailed recording: Maintaining meticulous records of events, observations, progress, child protection matters, and health and safety checks.
• Care planning and assessment: Collaborating with the manager and other professionals to implement individual care plans based on the children’s needs.
• Interdisciplinary collaboration: Working closely with the social workers, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for each child.
