Position: Residential Support Worker
Location: Walthamstow, E17
Salary: up to £13.85 ph
We are Young Roots Care Services and have been supporting young people in care since 2016 (aged 16-25 yrs). We are pleased to announce we are opening our very first Children’s Home, and are recruiting Senior Support Workers for our Walthamstow E17 location!

Responsibilities

Essential;

  • Compassion, patience, resilience and empathy
  • Have a genuine interest in working with vulnerable looked after children and young people
  • Enhanced DBS Checked
  • Ability to learn and develop new skills
  • Have good written and communication skills
  • Proven organisational skills and have the ability to work under supervision and unsupervised
  • Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and in stressful environments
  • Computer literate
  • Proven ability of excellent listening skills
  • Partake enthusiastically in activities with the young people- with a proven ability of understanding the varying needs of young people and how you will work with the team to meet these
  • Be willing to partake in any training as instructed by the home
  • At least one years’ experience working in Residential Childcare
  • Live locally to LB Waltham Forest
