Hourly rate: £12.94 Support Worker Wishaw Hourly rate - £12.94 an hour We are looking for a support worker to cover one 24hr shift. Shift is a long day and a sleepover. You will be required to be on shift from 9am-9pm on community hours and then 9pm until 9am on sleep hours. We are Mears Supported Living Ltd, providing a range of care and support services to people out in the community and in their own homes to enable them to stay as independent as they can. We are looking for a reliable, fun and empathetic support worker to join our team based in Wishaw area, for a specific service user living in his own home. Currently have an opening within a service in Wishaw, shift pattern will consist of a long day sleepovers. Shift patterns are as follows: This is a 24/7 shift. Staff will be required to be on shift from 9am-9pm on community hours, then 9pm until 9am sleep hours. Successful candidate will support with the following – Household tasks & maintenance of tenancy Personal care support Assistance with medication Preparation and serving nutritious meals Social supports of service users choice Supporting to arranged appointments About the Role: Our main priority is to find people with the right values, behaviours and attitudes that match our own! Activities enjoyed : Music interaction, I have specific genre’s that I like Spending time on my iPad / Computer Going for drives in my car About Them: Our Service user is 26 and has a diagnosis of Chromosome 18 deletion syndrome which is a very rare chromosomal disorder. He also has a moderate learning disability and autism, which can cause him to display very difficult and challenging behaviours. At these times staff are required to support, reassure and follow the behaviour support plan and PRN protocol to ensure both staff and service user are safe. There is significant input from the learning disability team, family and social work to ensure staff are supported with challenges faced. Service user is mobile. Service user is nonverbal, however communicates effectively using assistive technology and communication skills he has built up with the current team in place. Behaviours that challenge training will be given to new staff as well as shadowing shifts with experienced staff.
