WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 3+ months’ experience in a similar role (e.g., children’s residential care, youth work, or support settings).
  • Understanding of trauma-informed care and the needs of vulnerable young people.
  • Resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication skills and a teamwork mindset.
  • Full UK driving licence (essential).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enhanced DBS check (or registered on the Update Service).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day care and emotional support, fostering a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Assist with personal care, meals, bedtime routines, and recreational/educational activities.
  • Support young people with learning disabilities, emotional/behavioural difficulties (EBD), and mental health challenges.
  • Build trusting relationships while offering independent supervision and guidance.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to deliver individualised care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and report incidents in line with safeguarding policies.
