We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to join our team.

As a Support Worker at Descare, you’ll help to create a safe environment in which Service Users can live as independently as possible.
You should be naturally warm-hearted, yet resilient, able to deal with challenging behaviour and have a genuine interest in the lives of our service users. Your positive attitude and excellent communication skills are much more important to us than previous experience, as we offer full training and plenty of opportunities to grow and develop. You should also enjoy being part of a friendly, sociable team that has close links to the local community.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals in need, ensuring their comfort and well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • No experience is necessary, as training will be provided for the role. However experience of Care work would be an advantage
  • A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transportation needs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with service users and their families.
  • Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility in approach.
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
    This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, which will be provided by DesCare.
    Other organisations may call this role Community Support Worker, Residential Support Worker, Care Worker, Care Assistant, Social Care Worker or Social Care Assistant.
Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to service users in their homes or out in the community, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to service users, fostering a positive environment.
  • Monitor service users’ health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the appropriate professionals.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and communicate effectively with family members and healthcare professionals.
  • Support service users with mobility issues and assist them in engaging in social activities.
  • Ensure a safe and clean living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks as needed.
  • Drive service users to appointments or social outings when required.
  • Assist with daily living activities which may include bathing, dressing and simple meal preparation.
