· Are you looking to make a move into children’s social care?
· Do you have previous experience in a mental health or learning disability environment, whether this be with children or adults?
· Do you have a fun, caring nature and a willingness to support our young people through the effects of the trauma that they have previously been through?
Calcot Services for Children may just have a role for you! CSFC are looking for resilient and enthusiastic team members to support our young people during the day with their lives. Here you will work with challenging behaviours, mental health, as well as other activities such as school runs and appointments in order to support them to be competitive with their peers. This is a hands on and active role so being able to keep up with our young people emotionally and physically is a must!
As a support worker you will be instrumental in supporting the young people through their daily lives. You will be responsible for helping the young people feel safe and at home. You will support the young people to access education and to be involved in activities and hobbies. You will get to know the young people so you can understand them, and how they are feeling and why they are feeling that way.
It doesn’t matter if you have had no experience in this role, we will provide a thorough induction and all training that you require for this post. At CSFC you have the opportunity to make what you really want out of your career with career progression available to Deputy or Registered Manager roles for the right people.
For this role it is desirable but not essential that you are able to drive, as we often plan day trips and activities to do with our young people, however there are some homes where there is limited public transport. Please speak to Peter on 01189952190 for more information about the roles in homes accessible to you if you don’t drive.
We work to a shift pattern, 7am to 3pm, 2pm to 10pm, long days from 7am to 10pm and once per week sleep in at the home. Part time posts available from 30hrs per week to full time at 40hrs per week. Weekend and bank holiday work is required and will be shared equally between the team.
Please note that you have to be 21yrs or older to work in our homes due to the nature of the role.
