POSITION OVERVIEW

The Support Worker provides person-centred support to individuals, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, community participation, and achieving personal goals while ensuring their safety and well-being.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or equivalent (desirable).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check / Working With Children Check (as applicable).
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (if community support is required).
  • COVID-19 vaccination (if mandated by regulations).
  • Experience in disability, aged care, or community services (preferred but not always essential).

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care, including assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
  • Support clients with meal preparation, feeding, and dietary requirements.
  • Assist in medication administration (as directed and in line with policies).
  • Encourage independence by supporting clients to develop daily living skills.
  • Provide social and emotional support, including companionship and active listening.
  • Support community access, including attending appointments, shopping, and recreational activities.
  • Implement and follow individual care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including progress notes and incident reports.
  • Uphold client rights, confidentiality, and dignity at all times.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow workplace health and safety procedures.
