ABOUT THE ROLE

We currently have an opportunity for a Support Worker at our supported living service, Oxleys Road. The role is full time (37.5 hours per week).
At Oxleys Road, we are dedicated to supporting adults with mental health concerns, helping them develop the skills needed to live independently and safely within the wider community. We also believe in the importance of enjoying life, so we offer activities to reduce boredom and provide entertainment for those we support.
Your role will involve assisting with daily living tasks such as basic cooking, laundry, travel training, budgeting, and shopping. While you will often work independently with the individuals we support, there is usually another staff member on site. However, if you are working a late shift followed by a sleep-in, you will have access to an on-call contact for support.

Working as part of a dedicated team, your role as a Support Worker is to:

  • Provide appropriate support to service users who are living in their own homes or in a supported housing setting to enable them to develop and maximise their independence
  • This may involve promoting life skills such as shopping, managing budgets and domestic tasks such as cooking and cleaning
  • Follow agreed support plans and risk assessments to ensure that we are providing a service that meets each individual`s needs
  • Support their aspirations and maximise their independence
