Description

About the Role:
We are looking for caring, compassionate, and reliable Home Care Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will assist individuals with disabilities in their homes and within the community, promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life. Your support will include domestic assistance around the home and helping individuals engage in various community access activities.
As a Home Care Support Worker, you will make a significant difference by ensuring participants have the support they need to live comfortably at home and participate in their local communities. Your contributions will help participants maintain their independence and achieve their personal goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide domestic assistance including household cleaning, meal preparation, laundry, and general home maintenance.
  • Assist participants with personal care tasks as required, promoting independence and self-management.
  • Support participants in accessing the community, such as attending appointments, shopping, recreational activities, and social outings.
  • Foster positive relationships with participants, encouraging social participation and skill-building.
  • Help participants with budgeting, grocery shopping, and meal planning, where required.
  • Provide emotional and social support, promoting participant empowerment and well-being.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including shift notes, incident reports, and other documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with other team members, to ensure holistic and quality care.
  • Adhere to all NDIS standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality and safety in service delivery.

Approximate Shift Times:

  • Day Shifts: Between 8am and 8pm (if you are successful, you will be allocated shifts during this time)
  • Occasional weekend work available

Key Requirements:

  • Previous experience in disability support or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Individual Support, or similar qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and person-centered approach
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle (may be required to assist participants with transportation)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain)
  • Paid NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willingness to obtain)
