As our Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of supporting our customers who have complex mental health needs to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. The aim of our service is for our customers to gain the skills and knowledge to move on living independently. Our customers reside with us for up to 2 years by then they have the ability to live successfully in the community. You’ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations. Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, cleaning, supporting to appointments and maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation. Understanding and following risk assessments and support reviews. Completing detailed support plans and setting personalised, achievable goals with customers. Supporting customers to work on their goals each week, helping to build confidence and achieve meaningful progress. General office duties and paperwork, responding to safeguarding incidents, ensuring the service remains fully compliant with health and safety requirements. Cuppas, chats and catch ups. There’s no rushing from one customer to the next here! Plenty of time to work together with colleagues too. You will need a good knowledge of computer systems as most of our documents are online. There is no personal care required for this role just practical and emotional support. You will not need any experience handling medications as we are not a CQC service. The great news is that we’ll pay your mileage! Experience with Mental health would be preferred, as this would benefit you in the role with the customers we support. The practical bits Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion. Working 5 days a week over 7 days, following a 4-week rolling rota. Shifts are 08:00am – 16:00pm, 12:00pm to 20:00, 13:15 – 21:15pm, this will include some weekends. Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues. You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
