Job Description We are seeking a professional and dedicated Support Worker to join our organisation in Wigan, United Kingdom. As a Support Worker, you will be entrusted with the critical responsibility of providing high-quality care and support to individuals, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life. At Home Instead Northwich, we can offer the following benefits: Competitive pay of £13.25- £13.75 per hour, with double time on bank holidays Fully funded DBS and pre-employment checks Variety of shift patterns available All calls are a minimum 1 hour, where we match you with clients for continuity Paid Training – full onboarding programme where we provide award winning training Shift patterns will consist of mornings shifts from: 07:00-14:15 and evenings shifts from: 16:00-22:00. Provide essential personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Manage medication administration and assist with meal preparation, adhering to dietary requirements Maintain a hygienic and safe living environment, offering professional companionship and emotional support Assist with mobility and transfers, utilising appropriate equipment and following safety protocols Monitor and report changes in service users' health or wellbeing to the care coordinator Maintain accurate records of care provided and collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations and organisational policies Participate in mandatory training and professional development opportunities Work alternate weekends and operate across Wigan and surrounding areas as required. Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach Excellent time management and organisational abilities Basic healthcare knowledge and understanding of person-centred care Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical stamina to perform care tasks and assist with mobility Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar role is preferred NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable First Aid certification is advantageous Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle may be required Compassionate and patient demeanour Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Basic IT skills for accurate record-keeping Enthusiasm for making a positive difference in people's lives Additional Information At Home Instead Northwich, we can offer the following benefits: Enhanced company pension scheme Employee referral bonus programme - £250 per referral Paid mileage up to 45 pence per mile Supportive working environment Exclusive high street discounts scheme Eligible for a blue light card If you're looking for work which is extremely rewarding and satisfactory and have a high-degree of flexibility to meet our clients' needs, we would love to hear from you.
