As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals who require assistance, enabling them to maintain their independence and well-being. Provide essential personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Assist with medication administration and meal preparation, adhering to dietary requirements Maintain a clean and safe living environment for service users Offer professional companionship and emotional support Help with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and following safety protocols Monitor and report changes in service users' health or well-being to the care coordinator Maintain accurate records of care provided and collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations and organisational policies Participate in mandatory training and professional development opportunities Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required Qualifications Strong interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach Excellent time management and organisational abilities Basic healthcare knowledge and understanding of person-centred care Ability to work independently and as part of a team Physical stamina to perform care tasks and assist with mobility Previous experience in domiciliary care or a similar role is preferred NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable First Aid certification is advantageous Understanding of safeguarding procedures and commitment to protecting vulnerable adults Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Valid driving licence and access to own vehicle may be required Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately Basic IT skills for accurate record-keeping Enthusiasm for making a positive difference in people's lives Additional Information At Home Instead, we also offer the following: Employee referral bonus programme - £250 per referral Paid mileage up to 45 pence per mile Supportive working environment Exclusive high street discounts scheme Eligible for a blue light card If you're looking for work which is extremely rewarding and satisfactory and have a high-degree of flexibility to meet our clients' needs, we would love to hear from you.
