Hours: 16 hours per month (average 4 hours per week)
Hourly Rate of Pay: £12.21
Based at: Ipswich, Suffolk.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this Job is to support a teenage boy with autism, epilepsy, ASD and SPD. The child lives at home with his Mum, Dad and sister. The purpose is to build a professional relationship with the child, support him to become more independent and to support his daily needs. The teenage boy loves music / sounds and also has a keen interest in buses, trains and clocks. He struggles to express himself so support will be required to encourage and motivate him to do things he enjoys. He has a set routine and likes to stick to this.

To support with:

  • Engaging with the teenage and taking part in activities he enjoys e.g. going to watch trains / buses, going to the play park, long walks, coffee shops, zoo and the beach.
  • Constant supervision is required at all times.
  • Support with all safety aspects.
  • Assisting with medication (emergency medication)
  • The boy does have reins, and this will be used when out in the community. He does also have access to his wheelchair.
  • To build a supportive relationship and take part in activities which the child enjoys.
  • Personal care may be required e.g. changing him if he has a fit / seizure.
  • To support him with independence
  • To be supportive, encouraging and engaging.
  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
