Hybrid work in Dapto NSW

Full job description

Casual Personal Assistant / Health Administration Support

Casual | Approx. 2–5 hours per week (potential for more) | Flexible hours | Entry-level applicants welcome

I’m a young woman managing several chronic health conditions and am looking for a warm, organised and reliable Personal Assistant to provide a few hours of practical support each week.

The purpose of the role is to take some of the administrative load off my shoulders, keep my medical care organised, assist with transport when required, and help me maintain some normality and independence around my health.

A Great Opportunity for a Student or School Leaver

No previous experience is required. While applicants with relevant experience are very welcome, I’m equally happy to hear from someone just starting out.

This could be a great casual role for a university/TAFE student, recent Year 12 graduate, or someone looking to gain their first practical work experience and build their résumé.

It may particularly suit someone studying or considering a future career in nursing, medicine, allied health, psychology, healthcare administration, business/administration or community services.

I’m much more interested in finding someone who is reliable, switched-on, compassionate and genuinely organised than someone with an extensive résumé. I’m happy to show the right person how I like things organised and help them settle into the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Scheduling GP, specialist and hospital appointments Helping coordinate upcoming surgeries and procedures Following up referrals, bookings and medical administration Making phone calls and enquiries where authorised Maintaining an organised calendar and task list Driving/accompanying me to occasional appointments Helping prepare for appointments and organise relevant information Occasional companionship for activities such as walking, fishing or kayaking when my health allows, primarily for safety due to a history of fainting episodes

About You

I’m looking for someone who is:

  • Very organised, proactive and dependable Warm, patient and easy to get along with Respectful of privacy and confidentiality Comfortable taking initiative and learning new things Flexible when appointments or plans occasionally change A good communicator who isn’t afraid to make a phone call or follow something up

Previous experience in personal assistance, administration, healthcare, support work or similar would be great, but it is absolutely not essential.

A current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle are strongly preferred due to the transport component.

Hours & Pay

Approximately 2–5 flexible hours per week initially, with the potential for additional hours around surgeries, appointments and busier periods.

The role could work particularly well around university, TAFE or other casual employment, as the hours are limited and generally flexible.

Hourly rate is negotiable depending on experience and responsibilities.

My specific medical history has intentionally been kept private in this advertisement. Anything relevant to performing the role safely will be discussed with shortlisted applicants.

Interested?

Please apply with a short introduction about yourself, your availability, any experience you have (even if it’s limited!) and whether you have a current driver’s licence/reliable vehicle.

Please don’t be discouraged from applying because you’re young or don’t have much work experience yet. If you’re responsible, organised, kind and keen to learn, I’d genuinely love to hear from you.

I’m very happy to exchange phone numbers privately with suitable applicants to have a casual chat about the position, answer any questions and see whether we’d be a good fit.

Pay: From $250.00 per day

Benefits:

  • Free food

About the role

We're looking for Disability Support Workers to support a woman in the Moss Vale, Bowral and wider Southern Highlands area.

The role will initially focus on community access and everyday activities, supporting the person to participate in the community and build confidence and independence.

This is a capacity-building role, rather than a traditional task-based support position. You'll be encouraged to support the person to do as much as possible for herself, providing prompting, guidance and assistance where needed.

There is also an upcoming 10-14 day community living trial expected towards the end of October, where selected Support Workers may have the opportunity to provide support within a short-term accommodation setting. This may involve a range of everyday activities including meal preparation, shopping, household tasks, routines and community access.

Workers selected for the trial will receive training from the treating team prior to commencement.

Current community access shifts:

  • Approximately 3 shifts per week
  • Generally 2–4 hours per shift
  • Based around the Bowral / Moss Vale area

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who:

  • Are patient, approachable and able to build genuine rapport
  • Know how to provide prompting and encouragement without taking over
  • Enjoy supporting people to develop skills and independence
  • Are confident supporting community access and everyday activities
  • Have experience supporting people with acquired brain injury, rehabilitation or capacity-building goals
  • Are reliable and have good availability
  • Are comfortable working collaboratively with an OT and broader support team

Your previous career, your life experience and the skills you’ve developed along the way can all make you a great Support Worker.

What you’ll need

  • Current P2 or open’s driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Working with Children’s Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain
  • First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain
  • The right to work in Australia
