Description

MANDATORY SKILLS FOR WORKING WITH THIS CLIENT:

  • A full UK driving licence (applications without this will not be considered)
  • Access to a personal vehicle for work purposes
  • Previous experience in care or a similar support role
  • Male applicants only – this is a genuine occupational requirement due to the client’s specific needs and best interests
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a 2:1 support team, ensuring all aspects of the client’s care and wellbeing are met
  • Reliable and flexible
  • This role is primarily for a specific client who requires male support staff. However, business needs may change, and you may be required to work with other clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is preferred but not essential, as full-training will be provided.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays (we aim for our staff to work - one weekend in, one weekend off).
  • Valid driver’s license, with business insurance and reliable transportation.
  • Our staff will be expected to use their own vehicle to travel between clients when on day visits - When transporting a client, your mileage will be paid at a rate of £0.45 per mile.
  • Enhanced DBS (Can be obtained upon completion of our interview).

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to individuals with disabilities and/or special needs (Supporting the ages of 8+, adults (18-65) and elderly (65+).
  • Assist with daily living activities in the home such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration (all training provided).
  • Assist with daily community activities such as shopping, bowling, cinema, swimming, walking, sporting events, and many other days out that our client(s) may be interested in.
  • Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills, whilst promoting their social skills.
  • Promote a safe and inclusive environment for individuals to thrive in.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to support and implement person-centered care plans.
  • Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to appropriate personnel (This is reported through our care app).
