SKILLS

  • Experience in childrens residential care settings is highly desirable
  • Proficiency in first aid techniques and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong behaviour management skills to effectively support YP with diverse needs.
  • Knowledge of medication administration protocols and nursing principles is advantageous.
  • Ability to provide childcare support when necessary, ensuring a nurturing environment for young clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.

Responsibilities
  • Assist young people with daily living activities, including mental health, meal preparation, and household tasks.
  • Administer medication as prescribed
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to young people, fostering a positive environment.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to promote a safe and supportive atmosphere.
  • Maintain accurate records of YP’s care and report any concerns to the managers.
  • Drive clients to appointments or social activities as required, ensuring their safety during transport.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised support plans.
