Description

We are seeking a Casual Support Worker with experience with autism. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for disability support and a strong understanding of autism and related support needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support to participants with autism during structured and community-based activities (cooking, sports, train travel, swimming, walking, etc.).
  • Use autism-specific strategies to support communication, behaviour, and participation.
  • Assist with personal care and mobility as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including incident reports and daily notes.

About You

  • Experience with people with autism is essential.
  • Understanding of behaviour support strategies and person-centred approaches.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with participants and families.
  • Patient, compassionate, and resilient, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Flexible and reliable team player.

Requirements

  • Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Valid driver’s licence and reliable transport.
  • Proof of right to work in Australia.

Job Types: Casual, Temp to perm
Contract length: 2 months
Pay: $35.00 – $50.38 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 18 per week
