JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. This role requires a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those with conditions such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering patient care and assisting with daily living activities.

EXPERIENCE

• Previous experience in caregiving or support roles is highly desirable, particularly in assisted living or nursing home environments.
• Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is advantageous.
• Knowledge of first aid practices is beneficial for ensuring client safety.
• Experience in home care settings will be considered an asset.
• A background in childcare may also be relevant for supporting younger clients or families.

• Provide personal care and support to clients, ensuring their dignity and comfort at all times.
• Assist with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
• Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
• Engage clients in activities that promote physical and mental well-being.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist with mobility and heavy lifting when necessary to ensure client safety.
• Implement behaviour management strategies for clients with specific needs.
• Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.
