JOB SPECIFICATION

Job Title Support worker
Job Aim To provide a high quality professional service to men who are affected by alcohol misuse.
Main To provide practical and emotional support to residents

Responsibilities To network and liaise with appropriate statutory, voluntary and community bodies

  • To ensure the correct procedures for recording and communicating information are adhered to
  • To maintain confidentiality at all times
  • To be responsible for the health, safety and hygiene of the house

Specific Duties To support and encourage residents in their daily routines

  • To undertake household duties, preparing and cooking meals
  • To record factual and non-judgmental information as appropriate; i.e. House Diary
  • To carry out the supervision of all areas of the house including internal and external public areas to ensure the health and safety of all residents
  • To maintain the security of the house and advise on and carry out action necessary to protect the house, its occupants and facilities
  • Carry out health and safety checks and report any problems to the Manager
  • Maintain a First Aid box and be able to provide basic first aid as required
  • Complete accident and incident reports when needed
  • Answer the phone, record and relay any messages
  • To undertake training as requested
  • To undertake any other duties in keeping with the post

Hours of Work Average 37.5 Hours per week (5 shifts per week)
