ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are looking for a Support Worker to provide dedicated support for our client, a young male, with a long-standing and well-established care team. He is highly autonomous and plays an active role in directing his staff team regarding the care and support he requires. He is also engaged in Boccia, a sport he enjoys regularly, and competes on a professional level, and his support team plays an important role in helping him participate fully in these activities.
The role requires 1:1 and sometimes 2:1 when travelling. The client requires support with all activities of daily living, including personal care, eating, and drinking and moving & handling.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Care Needs: Support with full personal care, moving & handling. The client has an oral diet but requires support with eating and drinking.
• Flexibility for travelling: The client is actively involved in disability sport, namely BOCCIA and participated in a Paralympic year. He needs a support team that can adapt to his travel schedule (The trips can be monthly and often longer than a week depending on the competition / training camp) and varied shift patterns. Shifts may include periods of extended travel duties (driving frequently, to and from Scotland to London)
• Driver: Confident driving the clients WAV (VW Transporter)
• Client Interests: The client enjoys Boccia, loves good food and playing Dungeons & Dragons.
