We are seeking compassionate, reliable, Support Workers to join our team in providing care in a home setting. This role involves supporting daily routines, engaging the client in meaningful activities, assisting with life skills development, and ensuring a safe and structured environment.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Experience working with children with autism or developmental disabilities (required).
  • Background in childcare, social services, developmental services, or personal support work an asset. (Personal Support Worker, DSW, Child and Youth Worker, Social Service Worker, OTA)
  • Ability to remain calm, patient, and compassionate when managing challenging behaviors.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional.
  • Able to follow a structured routine and detailed care instruction

Responsibilities
  • Provide consistent, supportive care in alignment with the client’s daily schedule and care plan.
  • Engage the client in activities such as sensory play, puzzles, crafts, music, and outdoor play.
  • Encourage and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, handwashing, dressing, folding laundry, doing dishes, sweeping, and tidying.
  • Support school readiness by practicing transitions, social play, and following simple routines.
  • Use positive behavior redirection strategies when needed.
  • Monitor and record daily notes.
  • Ensure the client’s comfort, safety, and well-being at all times.
