Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ECE/ECD/CYC/ECEA Certification or Training.
  • Minimum of 1 years experience in working in the ECD field, preferable experience in working in Aboriginal communities.
  • Must be a mature individual who demonstrates assertiveness, effective interpersonal communication skills as a team player.
  • Must be able to work well with children with challenges and identify effective strategies for case planning.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to provide direct program delivery experience and demonstrate working knowledge of family centred practice, early intervention child development, and community-based programming.
  • Must be able to work independently, be reliable and self-motivated.
  • Must have ability to keep ongoing and accurate records and provide written monthly reports.
  • Must be able to work in an array of environments (in the home, in community settings) and must have the physical abilities to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Must maintain professional standards and maintain confidentiality.
  • Possess reliable transportation and hold valid B.C. driver’s license and clean driving record (Recent driver’s abstract to be submitted).
  • Must comply with the Criminal Records Review Act.
  • Must have First Aide.
  • Ability to work with Aboriginal families and have knowledge of local culture.
  • Knowledge of the Splatsin Language an asset.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $20.00-$25.55 per hour
