SUPPORTED CLUSTER HOUSING - Coordinator Supported Cluster Housing (SCH) is one of the many services offered by New Directions. SCH provides independent living supports to adults who may have intellectual disabilities and/or mental health issues. The services are provided through an intensive housing model that provides a supportive setting for individuals that grapple with multiple barriers to independent living. This model places priority on preparing individuals to live autonomous lives by providing a place of safety and wrap-around support. Additional resources include access to food and nutrition, social and emotional connection, physical and mental health support, external system navigation, medication support, and timely access to staff that can assist with problem solving and attending to concerns as they arise. The Coordinator of Supported Cluster Housing is primarily responsible for supervision of staff providing supports to individuals supported at Cluster locations, as well as the coordination of facility maintenance. Responsible for providing supervision and evaluation, the Coordinator oversees development of staff teams and programming for people supported in the service area. The Coordinator engages with the Supported Cluster Housing leadership team in the planning, consultation, communication and implementation of various projects and initiatives within the service area. Responsibilities: * Oversees building maintenance for all Supported Cluster Housing sites, including coordinating repairs of property damage. * Communicates with building management and New Directions Facilities & Leasing Manager as needed. * Provides direct supervision to Unit Supervisors, including managing performance and areas of development. * Mentors Unit Supervisors in direct supervision of staff, including managing performance and areas of development * Involved in the hiring and selection process which includes submitting requests for job postings, shortlisting for interviews, and participating in the interview process. * Coordinates staff scheduling to ensure that individuals’ and service area needs are met. * Promotes positive working relationships with staff and facilitates conflict resolution. * In collaboration with SCH leadership, assists the Unit Supervisor to plan and develop programming for people supported focused on personal and cultural interests and increasing experience, exposure and education. * Source resources that can be used by people supported, both community based and in Cluster settings. * As part of the support team, brainstorm creative problem solving and troubleshoot support strategies for people supported in Cluster Housing. * Provide guidance on issues related to supported individuals, identifying signs of potential risk and provide awareness and training for both staff and individual safety. * Conducts individuals’ assessment as part of the intake and assessment process. * Generates service proposals based on intake and assessment information and ensures that funding tracking is accurate. * Audits and monitors monthly cash reconciliations submitted by Unit Supervisors. * Assist with orientation and on-going training of SCH support staff. * Assist with development of training and tracking processes. The successful candidate will bring the following: * Minimum of five (5) years of experience working in the adult disability services sector, or experience working with adults with addictions and barriers to stable housing (or related field). * Post-Secondary education (diploma) in Disability and Community Support from a recognized post-secondary institution. A combination of education and experience may be considered. * Previous supervisory experience, while maintaining the ability to work independently on projects and independent tasks. * Demonstrated organization and time management skills, with an attention to detail with record keeping and administrative tasks. * Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Work, PowerPoint and SharePoint. * Valid Class 5 Driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle for work purposes * The ability to participate in the On Call Rotation as assigned * Fluency in American Sign Language is considered an asset.               The salary for this full-time, 70-hour bi-weekly position is $33.90 to $42.71 per hour, dependent upon education and experience.
