Description SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday-Friday, 8:00AM-4:30PM, some flexibility required Pays $46,000 - $52,000 annually DOE (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set) LOCATION: 444 Harrison Ave, Boston, MA 02118 SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: The Supported Employment Specialist is responsible for integrating specialized employment services directly within Pine Street Inn's Permanent Supportive Housing program. This critical role drives job placement, retention, and career advancement, directly supporting individuals in achieving their income maximization goals. The Specialist coordinates and delivers employment services using the Supported Services Model, managing all clients records and data reporting in the process. Additionally, this position maintains a broad scope of service coordination across Greater Boston and provides referrals to Workforce Development's job training programs as appropriate The Supported Employment Specialist is responsible for: Finding and retaining employment for PSI tenants Providing career coaching, job placement activities and services to tenants on their caseload Delivering career-ready skills training to clients to support successful completion of training and job search QUALIFICATIONS: We are looking for a self-starter who is compassionate and has a good disposition, is flexible, pays attention to safety, is professional and shows initiative. Also important is someone who is focused on job quality and continued improvement, is tolerant, and is committed to department unity and teamwork. Requirements EDUCATION/TRAINING: REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree, plus 2 or more years of employment counseling experience in workforce development, job training, adult education, or human services OR High school diploma plus minimum of 5 years employment counseling experience in workforce development, job training, adult education, or human services PREFERRED: Bachelor’s or Masters in Social Work KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: REQUIRED: Two to five years of experience in a related field, depending on education level (see Education/Training Section for details) High degree of cultural sensitivity and experience working effectively in a diverse environment Knowledge of workforce development principles, theories, and practices, especially as relating to populations with significant barriers to obtaining and sustaining employment Experience in developing partnerships with external agencies and resources Experience with establishing priorities, implementing plans, and meeting deadlines Experience using a creative problem-solving mindset with regard to addressing the barriers affecting vulnerable adults, including mental health and/or substance use issues, homelessness, chronic unemployment, limited education, and housing instability PREFERRED: Prior experience providing job placement services specifically to adults experiencing homelessness or adults experiencing mental health and/or substance use issues Experience in creating and conducting workshops, developing presentations, and project facilitation Bilingual: Spanish and English
