Description

Swindon Borough Council are on an exciting journey to transform service delivery. We want our town to be the best it can be. Our ambitious vision in the new Swindon Plan is supported by realistic transformation programmes, with the people of Swindon at their heart. Because that’s who we’re doing it for – the communities and businesses that make our town great. As part of the Council, you’ll support a friendly local authority making decisions with real impact. It’s all for better public services. Better processes. And a better quality of life, for everyone. Join us, and Swindon will be better with you.
Swindon Borough Council is proud to provide a high quality Sheltered Housing Service for its tenants across 32 schemes. We are looking for a new member of our team to ensure that we continue to deliver the best possible standard of cleanliness and hygiene in our communal areas.

Responsibilities

You will have experience in a cleaning role preferably in a commercial environment. You will be familiar with Health and Safety legislation and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations.
This post will involve periods of physical exertion/movement; applicants need to be able to use stairs, small step ladders and general cleaning equipment. There will also be an expectation to assist the Sheltered Housing Officer with gritting in the winter months.
Use of a car or the ability to travel throughout the Borough will also be required as this is non-residential and will require flexibility to cover different schemes in Swindon.
For this role you will be part of our Sheltered Housing cleaning team based at one of our 32 buildings between 8.00am – 16:30pm Monday to Thursday and 08:00am – 16.00pm Friday .
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act “for the effective performance of a customer-facing role”).
