Location: Multiple Locations Pay Range: $17.55 - $24.23 hourly Job Status: Part-Time Hours per Week: 9-15 Employment Type: Regular FLSA: Non-exempt The Supported Page position is part of Sno-Isle Libraries Supported Employment Program for individuals with developmental disabilities who are supported by a job coach. Job Summary This position performs the support tasks described below to contribute to a library’s effective operation. This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by AFSCME Council 2. Essential Functions The following tasks are typically performed daily and support access to library materials for customers: Refer to a printed list and retrieve library materials from that list. Shelve library materials in different collections following guidelines for how to organize them alphabetically and/or numerically depending on the type of item. Double check the organization of materials on the shelves to ensure they are in the correct place. Help keep the library tidy and welcoming through tasks such as straightening materials on shelves, placing materials that have been left out into return bins, and pushing in chairs at tables. Additional Duties and Responsibilities Attend meetings, trainings, and workshops as assigned. Assist with special projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications The recruitment for this position is open to all qualified applicants who will receive and maintain employment support from a County-contracted Employment Service Provider as a client of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS) Division. Physical and Environmental Conditions The work of this position is performed in a generally accessible, safe, indoor environment and will involve interacting with coworkers and customers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must identify and organize library materials such as books, audiobooks, and DVDs based on small-print numbers and letters; and move materials to different parts of the building. Applications will be reviewed the following month and applicants will be notified if their application is accepted into the pool or not. When a Supported Page opportunity becomes available, retained applicants interested in that location will be notified and offered an interview. Applications are retained for one year, after which applicants are notified to submit an updated application in order to remain in the pool. Placement is not guaranteed, and if there are many candidates for one opportunity then the top candidates based on interest and relevant experience may be interviewed. Interviews If offered an interview, it will take place at the location where the candidate would work. Interviews involve a few questions from the hiring team, which will be sent to the candidate and job coach about a week in advance so they have a chance to prepare, followed by a working interview where the candidate will be provided with instructions to complete some tasks related to the work this Supported Page will perform. The job coach is encouraged to be present and support their client during both parts of the interview. Hiring After all interviews have been completed, the hiring team will identify one or more top candidates for the opportunity and complete reference checks for them. Once the selected candidate has accepted an offer of hire, all other candidates will be notified that the position has been filled. The job coach will be onsite during all shifts initially and fade to being present as needed to support the employee’s continuing success.
