About the role The Supported Playgroup Facilitator with ensure that playgroups and established in a way that provide opportunities for eligible families to develop parenting skills and confidence to support their children’s development. Supported playgroups are for families with children aged birth to 4 years of age. Work type: Casual Classification: Band 5 $51.23 per hour (including casual loading Key responsibilities include: * Develop culturally appropriate and accessible playgroup sessions that meet the needs of various age groups and diverse backgrounds. * Offer home visiting support to families within the guidelines of the small talk playgroup model. * Be a key contact and representative of the City when in communication with external agencies with support from people leaders. * Deliver the playgroup in accordance with current funding guidelines, such as the Small Talk model. * Organise the establishment of areas to conduct Supported Playgroups including sourcing appropriate venues to run the sessions, liaising with venue holders, support the tasks involved in maintain current invoicing and leasing agreements, and maintain auditing and risk assessments of the playgroup venue you conduct playgroup in. * Develop relationships with families within the Supported Playgroup program and promote engagement with In-Home Support and follow-ups as required * Develop relationships with local stakeholders and referral sources to develop referral pathways for disadvantaged families. Effectively engage and support families from diverse backgrounds and encourage participation in playgroup experiences. About you To be successful in this role, you will have experience in working in a similar position, have the ability to effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, and have a passion for supporting childhood development. * Relevant qualification in Early Childhood/Education, Social work/Community Services or Health (e.g. Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services, Social Welfare or registered Nurse/MCH). * Completion of Small Talk training. * Recent experience in development and facilitation of programs and group work for pre-school aged children. * Working with Children Check If this sounds like the role for you, then click apply now!
