CLASI is a non-profit charitable organization that supports individuals with disabilities and their families. Currently CLASI is looking for disability support workers in our Supported Visit Program. Supports will be provided in the Saskatoon area and all supports are community based.
Job Description - To mentor & support adults experiencing disabilities and their child(ren) that are currently in the care of the ministry. This program is designed to provide 1:1 mentorship, support, parenting skills and building positive parent to child relationships through community support, activities and mentorship in the community geared towards maintaining the family unit/connection.
Position details – Position is suitable for individuals who are looking to supplement their income, require part time or casual work and/or are in Post-Secondary School. The right candidate will have a strong desire to give back to their community and want to make a difference in the lives of others.
Duties & Responsibilities - Provide transportation, plan activities & community experiences, promote learning, and provide an environment of personal growth. You will provide ongoing feedback and evaluate the success in supporting the Adult with a disability and their child being mentored by preparing and submitting documentation & reports.

EDUCATION:

  • Disability or Rehabilitation Support Worker Certificate and/or related training and experience.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a working/reliable vehicle
  • Valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within three months
  • Additional courses such as TLR, MANDT, PART or Positive Behavior Support would be considered an asset.

SKILLS:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work effectively with individuals experiencing disabilities, co-workers, and community partners
  • Open-minded, creative, effective time management, and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Final Candidates are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
    Job Types: Part-time, Casual
    Pay: From $20.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 5 – 30 per week
