Crawford County Mental Health Center is now accepting applications for a full-time IPS (Individual Placement and Support) Specialist. This position supports individuals with mental illness and/or substance use disorders in achieving their employment goals through community-based job development and individualized support. Compensation is based on education and experience.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, rehabilitation, or a related field preferred
• Valid driver’s license required
• Experience in behavioral health or human services is preferred
• Must pass pre-employment background checks

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in the community
• Comfortable navigating conversations with employers and professionals
• Ability to motivate and support clients toward their goals
• Organized and able to meet documentation and fidelity requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Obtain Certification for Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training. MOAB is an in-depth training program that teaches individuals how to recognize, reduce, and manage violent and aggressive behavior. Training provided.
• MOAB training requires controlled movements, body positioning, and the ability to perform physical holds and restraint techniques.
• The focus of MOAB training is to use techniques that can be effectively applied by employees of varying physical capabilities while minimizing potential harm to both the individual being restrained and the trained themselves.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Be able to get on the floor and rise without assistance
• Have full mobility in both arms and shoulders
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  Salary and benefits package starting at $40,000. Benefits package includes participation in KPERS Retirement System, paid sick and vacation, health, dental, and life insurance.

• Complete vocational assessments and help clients explore career goals
• Conduct regular outreach to local employers and support job searches
• Collaborate with treatment teams and assist in benefit planning
• Deliver 65% or more of services in the community
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Attend job fairs and community events to build employer relationships
