CMHA Kelowna is hiring a full-time Supportive Housing Team Lead for our Ellis Place Supportive Housing Program. This position offers 37.5 hours per week, with a typical work week of Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

YOUR STRENGTHS & EXPERIENCE:

• Experience working in a Supportive Housing environment required
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Reliable vehicle and the ability to travel between facilities and other locations on a frequent basis, as well as transporting program participants within the community on an rare basis
• Criminal Record Check clearance in the Vulnerable Sector
• Degree or diploma in Social Services or related field considered an asset
• Certificates in First Aid, CPR, Naloxone, MHFA, ASIST, Mandt and Food Safe considered an asset
• Supervisory experience considered an asset
• Experience working in the Community Social Service sector considered an asset
• Ability to engage respectfully and develop rapport with participants, with multiple barriers, through a harm reduction lens
• Ability to work independently and in cooperation with team members
• Understanding of and commitment to working with people experiencing mental health concerns and substance use
• Ability to supervise, coach, and resolve staff challenges
• Ability to maintain consistent professional boundaries
• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• Working knowledge of community-based resource
• Understanding of working with a Trauma Informed lens
• Understanding of Harm Reduction and Housing First principles
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to be regularly exposed to individuals who are struggling with and/or recovering from trauma, drug/alcohol use, homelessness, mental health challenges and/or mental illness
• Ability to be regularly exposed to and in direct contact with dust, dirt, germs and human bio-products
