What We Do The Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is the nation's oldest program to help low-income, unemployed individuals 55+ receive job training and a path to employment. SCSEP is administered by the US Department of Labor. VANTAGE Aging operates SCSEP in 38 counties in Ohio. Who We’re Looking For We are seeking an empathetic, highly organized, and proactive professional to serve as a Supportive Service Navigator. In this remote role, you will work directly with older Job Seekers to guide them through personal barriers as they pursue employment. The ideal candidate is deeply passionate about connecting individuals to critical community resources and possesses a strong understanding of how to navigate complex challenges such as transportation limitations, housing instability, healthcare access, and food insecurity. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, cultural competency, and the ability to establish trust with clients from varied educational and cultural backgrounds. You should be a creative problem-solver who can navigate stressful situations with a positive attitude while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate Resources and Build Provider Networks Develop and maintain a comprehensive directory of supportive service providers to address diverse Job Seeker barriers. Track each client's progress and requests for assistance by keeping accurate, timely records and reporting outcomes as required. Monitor and document the progress of each Job Seeker as you guide them through personal barriers on their path to employment. Coordinate approvals and payments for necessary costs, actively aiding Job Seekers in utilizing no- or low-cost solutions whenever possible. Maintain reliable database utilization and record-keeping to support program compliance and reporting requirements. Navigate Barriers and Advocate for Job Seekers Communicate regularly with Job Seekers regarding their current barriers and the potential supportive services available to them. Collaborate closely with Regional Workforce Development Managers to understand each Job Seeker's unique history, barriers, and service needs.
