Great company culture with room to grow. The Fire Suppression Technician is primarily responsible for installing, servicing, repairing, and replacing Suppression and Hood Systems. A desired candidate performs the full job despite site and weather conditions, is able to work with little supervision, has good communication skills, and is consistently looking out for the customers best interest. Responsibilities Perform installation, inspection, service and repairs on special hazards fire suppression and other related system products Service, troubleshoot and install many different manufactures’ (including Ansul, PyroChem, RangeGuard, Piranha, etc.) special hazard systems Identify NFPA code and non-conformance issues Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals Consult and advise customers regarding potential safety issues (i.e., need to clean hood, additional fire extinguishers, etc.) Complete and produce reports that are legible, accurate and detailed prior to leaving job site Invoice paperwork in a timely manner Maintain a clean and safe work area Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with work Keep tools and equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, etc. Stay current with code requirements and industry changes Attend and complete all required safety training Perform other related duties as assigned or required Requirements Valid Driver’s License High School diploma/ GED Two (2) years prior work experience Ability to travel to multiple job sites each day Knowledge of NFPA code and non-conformance issues Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders multiples times a day Decent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently, with little supervision Knowledge of fire systems and tools Organized, systematic and adherent to deadlines Ability to work flexible hours including on-call rotation, nights, and weekend to meet customer needs Able to carry and move tools and equipment up to 50-70 lbs Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions – climbing ladders, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc. Willing to cross train on other fire systems (example: alarm, sprinkler, etc.) Preferred Knowledge working in ProfitZoom, Building Reports, and Paylocity CSA Certification OSHA Certification Benefits Medical Dental Vision Paid Time Off Paid Holidays 401(k) matching
